Summer Overnighter

Occasionally during a search it is necessary for the searchers to remain in the field overnight. This training simply simulates such circumstances. A foundational understanding of backpacking and wilderness camping is required before participating in this training. Anyone wanting to learn these skills must find a certified member to instruct them before the training.

Required Equipment:

Equipment necessary to hike 10 miles and spend the night outside no matter what the weather. Please ask any of our experience members questions if you are unsure of what this might mean. A good place to start is the gear list for SARTech I. You are not required to bring everything on this list to the training, but you might want to get used to carrying all of it.

Recommended Equipment:

Anything else you feel like carrying to help you have a good time. Yes this is a training, but that doesn't mean you can't have a good time.
